Introduction to contour lines

As an introduction to contour drawings, the class drew hands. First, the class drew their hand without looking at it. The second time we drew our hand, we were able to draw our hand while both looking  at the paper and our hand. While drawing we were not able to lift up the pencil. The drawing was not supposed to look like a sketch, but a continuous line.

Bottles

Drawing bottles was very difficult. Sometimes it is overwhelming when you are trying to capture both the light and the shadows throughout the bottle. Also the shape can be very irritating, especially when you are perfectionist. What helped me with this project was when Mrs. Rossi went over drawing the circles to give the drawing more dimensions.

Drawing Introduction

As an introduction into drawing, the class drew the fruits in front of them. I drew a orange that had circular shadows on the bottom and I also drew a value chart at the top that helps with gaging how dark I should shade on my drawing.

Photoshop

Attack of the goldfish. I photoshoped this picture to make a nice picture turn into a women being attacked by goldfish. I took two photos and put them together and made it seem realistic. Photoshopping is fun and a easy thing to do.

Clay Tile

This project was fairly challenging. My refrence was a frog hanging from a stem. I was not pleased with my stem, so I made the frog seem as if he was hanging on a flower. The first thing that we did was cut a base slab of clay. Then we started to build on top of the clay to make the sculpture appear more realistic. I wish I could have done a better job painting the clay but I still like my clay sculpture and enjoyed doing this project.

Acrylic Landscaping Painting

This painting required three grounds. During this assignment, we went to the computer lab. I found a couple of references and this one was the easiest and had all three grounds. To start off this painting, I painted the whole canvas blue. Then I added color on top. This painting was not very hard to do but I wish that I would have made the whole plam tree instead of just doing some leaves.

Anamorphosis

I was not able to finish this project. The first step to this was to find a picture and change the perspective through photoshop so the drawing would appear to be 3D . This was  possible because we were able to transform the picture. After we had printed our pictures, we had to make a grid. By scaling the drawing it allowed us to be able to draw one section at a time depending on which picture you were drawing. Doing this also made drawing the picture easier. Also by making shadows and using colored pencils, the drawing was able to have more value and seem as if it was 3D.
